The Mukluk is Salsa's most versatile fat bike, designed and engineered to excel in a wide variety of conditions. The frame utilizes 197mm rear spacing to accommodate up to 5" tires, and the 100mm threaded bottom bracket allows a wide range of crank (Q-factor) choices. Alternator 1.0 dropouts allow for short chainstays and easily support single speed or geared drivetrain options. The Mukluk can do it all.

Mukluk rolls on 26 x 4.6" wheels and tires—this huge tire delivers massive traction, stability, and optimum flotation on soft surfaces such as ungroomed snow or loose sand., which offers improved stiffness, better vibration damping, excellent durability, and weight savings compared to other frame materials. Mukluk’s geometry works extremely well in all conditions, whether it be riding groomed singletrack at your local trail, exploring a beach coastline, or embarking across the wild frozen expanses of Alaska. At its core, we use the shortest chainstay possible with a headtube angle and fork offset that place the rider’s center of gravity further over the rear wheel. This location and combination of front and rear center is key to getting a fat bike that is stable, steers well in loose conditions, and feels nimble and agile despite the massive wheels and tires. A low bottom bracket is also key to keep the rider’s center of gravity low and to make dabbing, dismounting, and remounting easier. Additional features that increase Mukluk’s versatility include stealth dropper post routing, rear rack compatibility, and numerous accessory mounts: toptube bosses for a Salsa EXP Series Toptube Bag (sold separately), two water bottle mounts inside the front triangle, and one accessory mount underneath the downtube. It’s got full-length housing that improves shifting performance in poor conditions, and room for multiple wheel/tire combinations, allowing you to dial in your fit or the bike's performance to a specific terrain.
