Valhalla Recreation Area
Valhalla is another great XC ski trail system in our area. USFS operates and regularly grooms the trails, located between Cornucopia and Washburn, about 25 minutes from Bayfield. The snow is often much better, especially early and late season at Valhalla and at Ashwabay than in the towns near the lakeshore due to lake effect. It is a multi-use area, so there can be a lot of snowmobile traffic nearby on the weekends, but not on the ski trails.

We love the Sun Bowl, loop C across the road, Valkyrie trails
There is a great sledding hill there, too
